Mapping Miss Maps

Anika Mikkelson - Miss Maps - February 2016 - Photo by Jeremy Biard

Where has she been? Where is she going? Where is she now?

Here it is, all mapped out for you. Pink countries are my favorites (aka… the ones I’ve visited). Most countries have corresponding articles. Make sure to follow the links to learn more about each place and about Miss Maps’s journey.

In August 2016 I visited my last country in the EU and made my way over to SE Asia – and from there headed back West to Africa!

Stay tuned for more Mis(s)Adventures coming your way!

  1. YES! Another mapper! I chose not to use the world map quite yet- Im on the 50 states by 25 kick right now so I stuck to the North American Map for now. Personally, Instagram is up there with Pinterest for me. Checking out the geotags from regular peoples perspective gives me more realistic expectations of what experiences I am in for 🙂

    1. Oh yes for sure! I plan to arrive in Australia then and spend up to a year in the area. You’re right, that would be a very short time to spend there. Any advices on where to set up a home base??

  2. Wow, look at you go!! We wanted to check out Montenegro when we were in Dubrovnik last August but we were short on time. Definitely doing a double back and making a stop there next time! Happy traveling 🙂

    1. Oh, yes it is so close and so lovely – If you haven’t been to Bosnia yet, I highly recommend Mostar and Sarajevo as well. Let me know when you get there! Happy Travels to you too!

  3. July is a great time to visit the east coast US! On the east coast, I highly recommend checking out Washington DC, NYC, Boston, and Cape Cod. I’m from Boston and lived on Cape Cod for a bit, so if you need some local recommendations for those areas (or all of New England, really), don’t hesitate to reach out!

  4. Ahhh, you visited my home country (Ukraine)! I’m going to go read your post on Lviv now 😀
Where will you be going in the USA this summer? Stop by San Francisco if you haven’t been already – it’s such a fun city (and let me know if you do, I’d love to give you some ideas!)

    1. Yes, Ukraine is amazing!! What city are you from and what did you think of the Lviv post? Thanks for the tip on San Fran – I’ve spent a good deal of time there, and agree that it’s so much fun. I’d love to live in the area some day… if I ever decide to stay in one place for a while 😉 If I do end up back there, I’ll let you know and would like to know your tips!
