Quick note: Three months in Romania was well spent, and included two days (not enough!) in Sibiu, Romania. The next post will give more details on my time there, but I’ll preface it by sharing this little diddy I put together. It really was a magical place and time, one that I barely can explain. Here I try:

Two wooden chairs
A small round table
And three wandering souls
Found in Sibiu Romania
We sat down
She spoke
I spoke
We spoke
Stories of life
Stories of love
Stories of hope
Encouragements
Discouragements
Friendships
Relationships
Romances
Questions of purpose
Questions of strength
Questions of questionings
Glimpses at the past
Truths of the present
Hopes for the future
For hours
We sat
And we spoke
Two wooden chairs
A small round table
And wandering souls
Connecting on a level
So great
So rare
Time passed
She left
I stayed
And he came
We sat down
He spoke
I spoke
We spoke
Stories of hope
Stories of love
Stories of life
Discouragements
Encouragements
Romances
Relationships
Friendships
Questions of questionings
Questions of strength
Questions of purpose
Hopes for the future
Truths of the present
Glimpses at the past
We spoke
And we sat
For hours
Connecting on a level
So rare
So great
Time passed
He stayed
I left
The power
The energy
The simplicity
Of two wooden chairs
A small round table
And wandering souls
What brought us together?
The desire to explore
One of Romania’s most beautiful cities
Though this meant little
Once we’d met
Once we’d sat down
Once we’d spoke of
Our love of the world
Our strengths
Our vulnerabilities
Our wandering souls
It was unexpected
And something I’d never before
Experienced
Two days
Spent not exploring place
But exploring person
Two different people
Two different days
And two strikingly similar
Conversations
Each tailored to
Our own personality
Each tailored to
Our own being
Two days
Which brought
So much light
So much understanding
To the journey
We each are on
The power
Of two wooden chairs
A small round table
And three wandering souls
Found in Sibiu Romania
And now for your listening pleasure: “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” performed in a basement tavern in Sibiu. Quite fitting. Enjoy! xxAnika

Thanks Anita – it really is one of the best things about traveling, isn’t it? I always say – people make the place
